TADAIMA SHIMODA is a co-creative international program where digital nomads and local residents come together to live, connect, and shape the future of communities in Shimoda, Japan.
We’re looking for friendly, curious, and open-minded supporters to help co-create unforgettable moments—through warm welcomes, community engagement, cultural exchange, and event support.
You don’t need perfect English or Japanese.
Whether you’re a student, a traveler, a nomad, or a local—if you want to meet amazing people and co-create something meaningful, this is for you.
🌊 What is TADAIMA SHIMODA?
Supporters are at the heart of making Shimoda a place people want to come back to.
🧡 Supporter Roles (You can apply for more than one!)
A. Event & Community Support
Great for friendly and welcoming people who love creating good vibes.
What you’ll do:
- Help welcome guests during TADAIMA Mirai conference in November (Nov 12-14)
- Support reception, venue setup, and networking flow
- Provide light interpretation or cultural navigation
- Simply help people feel at home in Shimoda
You’ll gain:
- Meaningful friendships across cultures
- Real-world experience supporting global-local events
- Confidence in communicating in Japanese or English
- Behind-the-scenes experience in community events
Requirements:
- Conversational English and Japanese
- Available for at least one day between Nov 12–14 (Main Week)
- Online prep meeting (1–2 before the event)
B. Local Communication & Exchange Support
Perfect for people who enjoy talking with locals and connecting visitors with the community.
What you’ll do:
Join dinners or events as a “local buddy” to help spark conversations
Introduce your favorite places or people in Shimoda
Help visitors experience everyday Shimoda life

You’ll gain:
- Deeper ties to your hometown (or adopted hometown!)
- A unique role in building cross-cultural friendship
- Local pride and confidence through sharing your story
Requirements:
- Based in Shimoda or surrounding area
- Able to join at least 2–3 local events (Nov 2–30)
- No special skills needed—just curiosity and kindness
- Conversational English and Japanese
- Able to join and provide transportation
(e.g., have a car and are willing to help with driving)
C. Media & Creative Support
Perfect for photographers, videographers, writers, or social media storytellers.
What you’ll do:
- Capture moments during TADAIMA 2025
- Conduct interviews, create Reels, write short posts
- Share the experience of connection and co-creation
You’ll gain:
- Portfolio-worthy creative work
- Cross-cultural storytelling experience
- Credits on our official media & channels
- A chance to shape the narrative of global-local collaboration
Requirements:
- Prior content experience (or strong motivation!)
- Able to use your own phone or camera
- Available for online prep + 2–3 days on-site in November
- Portfolio (optional but welcome)
- Native English speaker (or business level needed) and conversational Japanese

- Sessions and events may be recorded or photographed for TADAIMA SHIMODA and ELENTO media.
- Supporters are expected to respect all participants regardless of nationality, gender, language, religion, or background. Discrimination or harassment will not be tolerated.
- Your travel or lodging is not covered.
